These runs are 6 months from the original Fox Cites Marathon. We will be running the full 26.2 & 13.1 mile courses in reverse!

Entry Fees

We are asking for $40 minimum tax deductible donations. All money will be donated to the PaceSetters Running Club Scholarship Fund. Make your tax deductible checks out to: PaceSetters Inc.

Water Stations

You MUST bring your own water bottle to refill (locations will be available). The water re-fill locations are approximately every 5 miles. Some locations will also have Gatorade. We will also have light food items (snacks) at the finish line. Remember to bring your water bottle!


A fun time running with friends, bragging rights to a cool marathon & half marathon. The Fox Cities Marathon will also be providing a finishers medal for the first 80 runners that sign up.

There will be one bus that will pickup participants at UW-Fox Valley (finish) parking lot and bring them to Riverside Park in Neenah (start). The bus will leave promptly at 6:30 AM. If you miss the bus, you must arrange your own transportation.

Race Day Schedule

Please arrive at finish line (UW-Fox Valley) race morning between 5:45 AM and 6:20 AM. The shuttle bus to the start line departs at 6:30 AM.

If you are not taking the shuttle bus be sure to be at the start line at Riverside Park in Neenah (by Bergstrom Mahler Museum) for the 7 AM start. There will be no transportation back to the start line upon completion.

When you arrive, you MUST check-in with run organizers, look for the nice lady with the clipboard. You will receive your bib number and route reel. (At the finish, you must also check-out)

Remember all donations are tax deductible and will be put into the PaceSetters Scholarship Fund. Please give generously.

Each year the PaceSetters receive over 150 applications from High School Seniors from the Fox Valley area for a chance at a scholarship. This year we hope to award four $500 scholarships.

We suggest a donation of $40 - $100 for us to award 2 more scholarships.

Please note this is a totally unsupported event with ALL roads open to traffic. Well, there might be a little support.... Woot woot! Lookin' good! Almost there! Turn by turn directions & race numbers will be provided at UW-Fox Valley parking lot before the bus transports to the start line.


Cheesehead Half Marathon and 5K


About this "Cheesy" event

Come participate in the World's "cheesiest" half marathon, two-person half-marathon relay, or 5k on Saturday, August 23, 2014. This boutique-style race delivers all the benefits of a big city race with small-town charm.


Half Marathon and 5K Race Results

Start & Finish Locations

Start and finish are on Main Street in Hilbert. The half marathon and relay start promptly at 7:15 AM. The 5K begins at 7:45 AM.


The USATF Certified Half Marathon (WI-09044-DM) course traces the countryside of Calumet County from Hilbert to Forest Junction and returns on a portion of the Fox River trail.

Minimum age for runners for the half marathon is 12. The cut-off is 3.5 hours. For safety, no pets, bikes, skates, or strollers are permitted in the half-marathon event.

Online registration closes at 11:59 PM on Wednesday August 20th. All entry fees are non-refundable. Participants may transfer their registration from the half marathon to the 5K by August 16th.

The Half Marathon and Relay events will be capped at 500 total participants.

PaceSetter Member Discounts

PaceSetter members receive $5.00 off on the 5K and $10.00 off for the half marathon and relay. No discount if registering after August 20th.


All runners and walkers receive a t-shirt, and cheesy feast ticket, Goodie bags to the first 1000. Half marathoners and relay participants will receive a technical shirt and a finishers medal. Door prize winners will be posted prior to the 5K awards. Participants wearing a Cheesehead or cheesy theme gear can enter a drawing for two free Packers tickets (must be present to win).

Packet Pick-Up Info

Packets must be picked up at the Village Hearthstone Restaurant tent, 326 Main St. Hilbert, WI. Packet pick-up times are Friday August 22 from 5:00 PM to 8 PM and Saturday August 23rd from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Race packets may be picked up by a third party if a copy of the entrant's ID is presented.

Chip Timing Info

The 5K, Half Marathon, and Relay events are scored using chip timing. Overall winners are based on Gun time, age group and official results are based on chip time.

Water Stations - Be Safe + Hydrate

The Half Marathon includes seven aid stations with Gatorade and water. The 5K course has one water station runners can use on the way out and back.

Gourmet Finish Line Feast

Local yogurt with house made granola, Breakfast pie, Cheddar and onion Welsh Rarebit with toasted breads, Cheesy potatoes, Caesar salad, Pulled pork sandwiches, Cheese cake bites and Wisconsin Craft Beer for those 21 and over.

Each Half Marathon, relay and 5K participant will receive a feast ticket. If you lose your ticket or want additional tickets they may be purchased for $7.00 (cash only).


For each race, cheesy awards will be given on race day to the overall first place male and female finishers and awards to the top three male and female in each age division (excluding overall winners). The top three male and female finishers in the Half Marathon will receive cash awards ($500, $250, $100). The top masters' runners will also receive $100.

Age Divisions

5K - Men and Women: 9& under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.

Half Marathon - Men and Women: 12-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.

Half Marathon Relay - Awards will be given to the first place male/male, female/female, and male/female teams.

Awards will not be mailed.

Wednesday August 20th: Online registration ends at 11:59 PM.

Friday August 22th: Pre register packet pickup and on-site sign up from 5 PM - 8 PM at the Village Hearthstone Restaurant 326 W Main Street Hilbert WI. Stop into Village Hearthstone for some pasta to carb load before the race!

Saturday August 23, 2014: All events start and finish on Main Street in Hilbert.

The USATF certified 5K Course Features the Very Popular Trestle Trail! From Germania Hall into charming Downtown Menasha and the near northside... Joining the Friendship Trail on Broad Street and then heading west to the new spectacular Friendship Trestle Trail Segment... over panoramic Little Lake Butte Des Morts... and back!

Start & Finish Locations

Start and finish are located at Germania Hall, 320 Chute Street, Menasha, WI. The 5K runners start at 8:00 AM and the 5K walkers start at 9:00 AM.
